We’re Proud To Unveil Our New Site Design!

Please welcome the new BitQuick! Our site has undergone various tweaks over time, with a major redesign back in 2014. We’ve changed our look once again to accommodate the continuously evolving standards in the space, and to maintain our status as the easiest way to trade bitcoin in the United States.   Buying Bitcoin Has Never Been This Easy. A key component of our new design is the introduction of an embedded buying wizard on our front page. An evolution of our original wizard, the new wizard allows you to get started from the moment you visit BitQuick. As a buyer, you can now immediately enter the amount of USD you want to spend or BTC you want to receive: Select your payment method (if applicable): Select an offer: Place…

Bitcoin Scaling Update

Bitcoin Scaling Update

The Bitcoin whitepaper just had its 9th anniversary on October 30th, allowing everyone in the community to reflect upon the massive and transformative impact the cryptocurrency and its underlying technology, Blockchain, have had on many industries worldwide. After all, this groundbreaking technology has restored hope in the simple concept of financial democratization that has eluded humankind as of late, and will surely change the world for the better. That is, assuming the project makes it far enough. Bitcoin has had growing pains from the get-go. It's taken years to develop a credible and legitimate name, and at times the layman still finds it difficult to understand the technology. To add insult to injury, Bitcoin has a scaling problem. The network has become too congested, and there's not enough space to…

An Important Update About Mining Fees

An Important Update About Mining Fees

BitQuick has refrained from charging mining fees to consumers since our August, 2013 launch. This has been the case because we wanted to service all users with the philosophy of charging the least amount of fees possible. Unfortunately due to current issues with the Bitcoin Network, including a sharp increase in mining fees over the past couple of years, we will be charging a flat 0.0005 BTC mining fee to all users that receive bitcoin from us, including buyers receiving purchased bitcoin, sellers receiving a refund for their order, and affiliates receiving monthly payouts. We apologize for any inconvenience this will cause, and hope that mining fees will drop to a reasonable level that puts our business in a position to be able to reverse this policy. We are currently…

Bitcoin Cash Update: Seller Instructions For Redeeming BCH

Bitcoin Cash Update: Seller Instructions For Redeeming BCH

Hello BitQuick Users, On August 1st, the Bitcoin network split resulting in the creation of a new chain with a new token called Bitcoin Cash (also known as BCH). Any BitQuick sellers that had bitcoin on the platform received an equivalent amount of Bitcoin Cash tokens. For more information about Bitcoin Cash, please see our previous blog. All sellers that had Bitcoin on BitQuick during the split have been emailed instructions about how to redeem their Bitcoin Cash. In order for us to return BCH to these sellers, we will need for each of them to provide us with a BCH address. Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash addresses look the same, so please make sure you are giving us an address from a Bitcoin Cash wallet. If you don't have one,…

Product Updates: BitID, Order Consistency, New Payment Methods.

Hello Bitcoiners! It’s been a bit since we last published a blog, but we’re thrilled to begin offering informative, interesting, and useful content to our readers once again! What We’ve Been Up To Since the Athena Bitcoin acquisition last June, the platform has grown considerably and the mobile website has been optimized with an improved process flow (a process flow that will soon be implemented on the desktop site as well). We will also be adding a new authentication method for our sellers in the coming days. Things To Come BitID Earlier this year in March, we received the unfortunate news that Clef would be shutting down for good. We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with the Clef team the past two years and offer their fantastic…

[caption id="attachment_378" align="aligncenter" width="511"] Abstract industrial login screen design with metallic ring[/caption] The BitQuick team is very excited to announce our integration with Clef! Two-factor authentication , while often cumbersome, is a necessary staple for any website in this day and age. This is especially true for Bitcoin startups, which is why Clef was an obvious choice since they provide a simple, secure, and convenient way to use two-factor authentication. Even more, Clef provides a way to securely replace passwords altogether! We have allowed sellers to use Clef instead of a modifcation PIN/password for their orders. Why Clef?(Image: Courtesy of getclef.com) Clef is a robust authentication solution that allows you to access your accounts in a hassle-free manner by utilizing public and private key cryptography, similar to the cryptography that…

BitQuick is proud to announce our support for Netki Wallet Names when buying bitcoin. Netki is contributing to improving the Bitcoin infrastructure by appending a more memorable identifier to your wallet: a simple, personalized Wallet Name that can point to your wallet addresses, much like URLs point to website addresses. Spend Cash on Amazon with BitQuick and Purse!

There’s no denying the impact that the internet has had on society at large. The world is continuing to shrink as more people are easily able to participate in this marvelous and mystifying vehicle that now closely dictates our daily lives more than ever before. Within all of the change and progress that has occurred in the past couple of decades thanks to the world wide web, however, there still lies an unsettling problem: There is a sizable group of people in the U.S. that have access to the internet, but are either unbanked or underbanked (meaning that they use alternative financial services outside of the traditional banking system). The internet has spread like a catalyst throughout the United States as of late, with the U.S. Census Bureau revealing that…
