Hello Bitcoiners! It’s been a bit since we last published a blog, but we’re thrilled to begin offering informative, interesting, and useful content to our readers once again!

What We’ve Been Up To

Since the Athena Bitcoin acquisition last June, the platform has grown considerably and the mobile website has been optimized with an improved process flow (a process flow that will soon be implemented on the desktop site as well). We will also be adding a new authentication method for our sellers in the coming days.

Things To Come

BitID

Earlier this year in March, we received the unfortunate news that Clef would be shutting down for good. We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with the Clef team the past two years and offer their fantastic authentication solution to all of our sellers.

Now that Clef has closed, we will be replacing it on BitQuick with BitID. Similar to Clef, BitID is a cryptographic authentication solution involving public/private key encryption. Here’s how it works:

Step #1: Download a wallet that is compatible with BitID. We would recommend using the Athena Bitcoin wallet app (Android, Apple), but there are several wallets that support BitID.

Step #2: Scan your BitQuick QR code by using BitID in your wallet app.

Step #3: You’re all set! You can now repeat the same process whenever making modifications to your order.

We have several additional exciting developments in the pipeline, here are some other things that you can expect to see from us soon:

Credit Union Order Fixes

We will be requiring a member number for credit unions, this will correct deposit errors with Shared Branch credit unions.

Sell Order Validation

Sell orders will be automatically validated to filter out orders with invalid account information or accounts that are not in good standing.

New Payment Methods

New methods of payment will be rolled out soon, including Western Union and MoneyGram.

We expect to have BitID rolled out within the next couple of days. More updates will be coming soon, stay tuned!
